The VA Community Care Network is a program that allows eligible veterans to receive healthcare from approved providers outside of VA facilities. When the VA cannot provide a needed service in a timely manner or within a reasonable distance, veterans may be authorized to seek care in the community through CCN — at no cost to the veteran.
For psychiatric care, this means eligible veterans can access a PMHNP for psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment without needing to navigate VA wait times or travel to a VA facility. RuLin Integrative Psychiatry is currently credentialing with the VA Community Care Network. In the meantime, self-pay appointments are available — call 1-877-RULIN13 (1-877-785-4613) to ask about our self-pay discount for veterans.
A Compensation and Pension evaluation is a clinical assessment conducted to help the VA determine whether a veteran's mental health condition is connected to their military service, and to what degree that condition affects their daily functioning. The outcome of a C&P evaluation directly informs a veteran's disability rating, which determines their benefits.
C&P evaluations are not treatment appointments. They are structured, evidence-based clinical assessments that require the evaluating clinician to document psychiatric symptomatology, functional impairment, and the relationship between the veteran's service history and their current presentation using standardized VA criteria.
If you are a veteran planning to file a disability claim that requires psychiatric documentation, C&P evaluations are coming soon. Subscribe below to be notified when scheduling opens.
Firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs carry a psychiatric burden that most clinicians are not trained to understand. Repeated exposure to traumatic events, moral injury, hypervigilance that does not switch off, disrupted sleep patterns, and the institutional pressure to perform regardless of your emotional state, are predictable neurobiological consequences of the work.
The same culture that makes first responders exceptional at their jobs often makes it impossible to seek care through channels connected to their employer, their department, or their union. Private telehealth changes that equation. What happens in this clinical relationship stays there.
RuLin provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management for first responders dealing with occupational PTSD, hyperarousal and hypervigilance, sleep disruption, depression, anxiety, moral injury, and burnout. The approach is integrative and root-cause focused, not a prescription and a door.
Appointments are telehealth only, cash pay, and completely private. Nothing is billed through insurance, nothing touches your employer, and nothing goes anywhere you do not authorise it to go. Call 1-877-RULIN13 (1-877-785-4613) and ask about our self-pay discount for first responders.
