This is where we start. A thorough clinical intake covering your presenting symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, family history, medications, diet, lifestyle, sleep, and relevant functional markers. Where indicated this appointment includes initiation of a medication plan, adjustment of an existing regimen, or a structured deprescribing conversation. We look at the whole picture before we touch a treatment plan.

RuLin Integrative Psychiatry does not bill insurance and is not paneled with any payer. Depending on your plan you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement and we are happy to provide a superbill on request. HSA and FSA funds may be used for psychiatric services -- check with your plan administrator.
A note on controlled substances: Federal regulations currently restrict the prescribing of controlled substances via telehealth without an in-person evaluation on file. RuLin Integrative Psychiatry does not prescribe Schedule II-V controlled substances at this time. This includes stimulants for ADHD and benzodiazepines. We prescribe non-controlled psychiatric medications and are committed to finding effective treatment options wherever that is clinically appropriate.
Most psychiatric care starts with symptoms and works backwards to a diagnosis. Integrative psychiatry starts with the person and works backwards to the cause. The difference matters more than it might seem.
Depression is not a Prozac deficiency. Anxiety is not a Xanax deficiency. These are signals, and signals have sources. Sometimes it is sleep. Sometimes it is inflammation, hormonal dysregulation, unprocessed trauma, nutritional deficiency, or a medication interaction nobody has looked at carefully. Sometimes it is several of these at once.
The goal is not to manage the signal indefinitely. The goal is to understand it.
