Standard psychiatric care typically focuses on identifying a diagnosis and managing symptoms, usually with medication. Integrative psychiatry starts with a different question: why are these symptoms here in the first place? We use the same rigorous clinical assessment as any psychiatric evaluation, but we also look at labs, lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, medication history, and functional markers to find the root cause. Medication has its place here and we do prescribe it, but as one tool among many, not the automatic first response.
As a board-certified PMHNP licensed in Florida, I am currently able to diagnose, prescribe, and provide ongoing psychiatric care for Florida residents only. If you are a Florida resident, you have access to the full range of prescriptive services -- a thorough clinical evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and follow-up care.
If you are outside Florida, the nationwide integrative consultation is an education-based appointment. I will give you my clinical opinion, review your history and current medications, discuss functional medicine considerations, and map out your options and next steps -- including emerging modalities such as psychedelic-assisted therapy and plant medicine where relevant. This is not a diagnosis or a treatment plan, but it is a serious clinical conversation with someone genuinely qualified to have it, and most people leave with a much clearer sense of direction than they had before. Where prescriptive care or ongoing treatment is needed, I have a network of like-minded practitioners and can refer you to someone in your state.
Additional state licensure is coming. If you would like to be notified when prescriptive services become available in your state, join the waitlist.
We see adults and adolescents aged 13 and older across Florida for prescriptive services. Nationwide integrative consultations are available for those outside Florida or those not seeking prescriptive care. We do not currently treat Bipolar I with psychotic features, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, or any presentation requiring a higher level of care than outpatient telehealth can safely provide.
The more information you bring, the more your first appointment can focus on where you are going rather than where you have been. Before your appointment we encourage you to upload your current medication list, any relevant labs from the past 12 months, notes or records from previous providers, and any relevant medical history.
Labs you have already had with another provider may be usable without needing to repeat them, which saves time and money. If you have not had recent labs, we can order them after your first appointment. Everything else we will work through together in the room.
In many cases yes. If you have had bloodwork done recently through another provider, upload it before your appointment and we will review it in advance. This avoids unnecessary repetition and means your first appointment can move straight to clinical discussion. Where new labs are needed, these can often be covered by your existing insurance plan.
All appointments are conducted via secure HIPAA-compliant video. You will need a device with a camera and microphone -- a smartphone, tablet, or computer all work -- and a stable internet connection. You will need to be physically located in Florida at the time of your appointment for prescriptive services. Nationwide integrative consultations are available from anywhere in the US.
A card is required on file at the time of booking. Payment is collected on the day of your appointment. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of your appointment will be charged in full. Outside of 24 hours there is no charge. Genuine emergencies are handled with discretion.
All appointments are booked by phone. Booking is coming soon -- join the waitlist at rulinip.com and we will be in touch the moment we are ready for you.
RuLin Integrative Psychiatry is a cash-pay, out-of-network practice and does not bill insurance directly. Depending on your plan you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement and we are happy to provide a superbill on request. Your HSA or FSA funds can be used to cover appointments, labs, medications, supplements, and any other modality we recommend. In many cases labs ordered through your evaluation may also be covered by your existing insurance plan -- this is worth checking with your provider before your appointment.
Yes. Psychiatric services with a licensed provider are a qualified medical expense under IRS guidelines. Your HSA or FSA card can be used directly at the time of payment and can also cover labs, medications, supplements, and other modalities recommended as part of your treatment plan.
Not at this time. Federal regulations currently restrict the prescribing of controlled substances via telehealth without an in-person evaluation on file. This includes stimulant medications for ADHD and benzodiazepines. We prescribe non-controlled psychiatric medications and are committed to finding effective treatment options that do not depend on controlled substances wherever that is clinically appropriate. As federal telehealth regulations evolve we will update our prescribing practice accordingly.
